SIA Feature Spotlight: Designing the Ultimate Gamer's Paradise with EEA

Designing the Ultimate Gamer's Paradise

The esports industry is evolving at breakneck speed, and Esports Entertainment Asia (EEA) is officially leading the charge. Established in 2019, EEA's bold vision to construct a comprehensive esports ecosystem recently took the spotlight in Systems Integration Asia (SIA) magazine. By bridging the gap between competitive gaming, real estate, and cutting-edge audiovisual technology, EEA is fundamentally redefining how fans and athletes will experience digital sports.

A Four-Pronged Strategy for the Future

To transform this massive vision into reality, EEA is executing its master plan through four key thrusts over the next few years. The company aims to:

  • Organize world-class esports events and competitions across Asia.
  • Develop dedicated esports entertainment venues across major gateway cities via the newly launched Esports Entertainment Asia Venue Fund.
  • Build a Pan-Asia social platform tailored specifically for esports enthusiasts to network and engage.
  • Nurture industry talent by establishing a specialized training academy.

According to Johnny Ong, Co-Chairman of EEA, the initial rollout of the Venue Fund has already been met with strong enthusiasm from real estate investors, who are highly interested in recreation-centric venues that serve as major attractions for millennials and families alike.

The Crown Jewel: Singapore's Regional Hub

While EEA plans to expand into major cities like Bangkok, Taipei, Jakarta, Manila, and Shanghai, the very first integrated esports development is slated to be built right in Singapore. This aligns perfectly with the goal of turning the nation into Southeast Asia's definitive regional esports hub.

This flagship venue will be nothing short of breathtaking. It is planned to feature:

  • A 6,000-seat multi-purpose esports arena capable of hosting massive international tournaments.
  • A 400-room esports business hotel equipped with gaming facilities.
  • Extensive esports-thematic retail and F&B outlets.
  • Flexible co-working spaces designed specifically for game developers, publishers, brands, and athletes.

This ecosystem is crafted to be a "work-live-play-learn" environment under one roof. It provides a physical cluster where esports start-ups and merchandise retailers can operate closely with their target demographics.

Powering the Experience with Next-Gen Tech

Given the feature in SIA—a premier Pro-AV publication—it is clear that top-tier technology is at the heart of these venues. Johnny Ong emphasized that EEA’s developments will utilize the absolute latest audio, visual, and lighting technologies to guarantee a multi-sensory, immersive experience for everyone who visits.

Because the venues are multi-purpose, the state-of-the-art infrastructure must seamlessly pivot between hosting an esports tournament, a live musical concert, or a broadcast studio feed requiring high-speed connectivity.

A Thriving Community Test-Bed

EEA is dedicated to making these spaces a welcoming environment for everyone, from hardcore amateur players to families looking to learn about responsible gaming in a communal setting. While the blueprint for these mega-venues is mapped out, the concepts are already being actively refined. Singapore's largest esports experience center, EXP, is currently serving as a real-world test-bed for these integrated developments, ensuring that when the flagship venue opens, it will deliver an unparalleled experience.
